Manimal is pleased to announce a re-launch of the legendary tribute to David Bowie, We Were So Turned On in the Summer of 2012. The double disc tribute album consists of artists ranging from Warpaint, Edward Sharpe + the Magnetic Zeros to Duran Duran, Carla Bruni, the late Mick Karn as well as Exitmusic, Vivian Girls and Devendra Banhart’s Megapuss was originally released in October 2010 to wide critical acclaim and great media support. The album acts as a benefit for The UK’s War Child charity and as of early 2012, Manimal is finally recouped on all production expenses (we went about $10K over budget between manufacturing costs, mechanical royalties and some recording + mastering budgets) and all sales for 2012 and after will be going straight to War Child.
